兰香子,学名明列子,为唇型花科、罗勒属、一年生、芳香性亚灌木状、草本植物。原产于印度又名罗勒子、奇异子、南眉籽。当地土著称“达卡”从西元3500年前阿兹迪卡古文明已经开始种植食用,是一种带来健康及体力和耐力的食物。 兰香子可以作为饮料的种子,具有排毒、清热、健脾、养胃、减肥保健等功效。
